After this quick experiment, I’m going back to the regular blog and twitter. Here’s how you can stay up-to-date on my latest ideas and read the old one:

More and more sets are getting internet connections and big freakin’ CPUs. Add in the fact that 90% of the execs at TV manufacturers have MBAs and have the Microsoft “platform strategy” case study burned into their brains. Besides just streaming TV, the screen can become a perfect way to have full-sized video conferencing with co-workers or family, a gaming platform, a chore list for kids…and that’s just scratching the surface.
What do you think? Is the TV a viable platform of the future? If so, what’s the killer app going to be?
Take a pic of your outfit and your phone’s default theme changes to match.
Prank iPhone app that tricks your friends into thinking they broke your iPhone. Ex. regular-looking photo app asks user to shake the phone to move to the next picture. After a few shakes, message pops up: “Warning: Intense Shaking Detected” followed by a sequence that looks like the phone completely froze up and melted down. Way more fun that just demoing the usual weather and Facebook apps to your iPhone-less
suckers friends.
Phone rental service that allows mobile developers to test apps on different hardware.
Social app that pulls Twitter Trending Topics memes (#3breakupwords) to FB and allows you to browse, contribute, and share w/ friends.
Game where you use old-school punch cards to build simple computer programs.
Users build Sims-like characters and goals, then share (like FB quiz) ex. Kris Allen sim, goal is to get him to ask you out.
Choose style, assemble panels, pick colors, etc. If I were a gazillionaire, I’d actually consider leasing out a storefront on a crowded beach and give this one a shot.
Take test, get SME certified..for a fee, of course. Good way to profit off all those overbearing self-proclaimed social media “experts”.
Musicians submit demos to site, angels can choose to fund the first album in exchange for % future sales.
A microblogging service open only to college students. Would have Facebook-like privacy controls and groups.
Social app with “Deadliest Catch” Alaskan crabbing theme. Catch crab, get $ to buy more boats, compete with friends, etc…
